Turning the circle

Hello again VBB’ers,

We know from experience how handy it is to get recommendations from Vegans about Vegan things. I grew up with a grandmother who loved to chat at the deli counter for two reasons: (1) Church gossip and (2) The ladies with their curlers underneath bright blue babushkas were the walking advice column. She knew she could trust them. They were bi-partisan-ly tactful, either they would rave forever or not address it at all. I feel that’s protocol. Here we’ll be sharing the good things. The rest are fighting in the streets but sometime might come around.

  1. SLOWCOOKER by PRESTO Over the past 20 years I’ve volunteered time feeding anyone who’s hungry from Food Not Bombs! To Animal Liberation Marchers and when it comes to keeping veggies, soups, beans, casseroles or even buns/tortillas warm outdoors we’ve relied on slow-cookers. This design is classic and it gets the job done just like the traditional though fragile glass covered predecessor. Finally a more rugged portable version that’s also so aesthetically pleasing! I love this one!Traveling Slow Cooker

*And bonus, this also looks good on the kitchen counter or on a fold out table at a potluck. Yeah, all night slow cookers make for beautiful breakfasts in bed while it’s snowing.

  1. HOW IT ALL VEGAN by SARAH KRAMER As stated in the newsletter Sarah Kramer is just amazing and this is my go-to Vegan cookbook. With such a burst of talented Vegan cooks with books and zines on the shelves right now it’s hard to pick a favorite, but have to go with the classics. “How it All Vegan,” just to be blunt, shines a different light.vegan book

Whether you’re just learning the difference between a garlic clove and head or a seasoned veteran with a mortar and pestle tattooed on each eyelid, Sarah shoots from the hip with clear, casual and precise wording so you won’t get lost in the fold or left confused by aged terms. Something always appreciated in the kitchen. Especially during the chaos holidays seem to usher in. Again, we have no affiliation with Sarah, we just love her book!!!

  1. GREEN TEA MATCHA POWDER by JADE LEAF I’m drinking Green Tea Matcha as I type. Though mine’s hot from a teabag as it’s 8pm and just need a little pick me up. Matcha is the entire tea leaf, so one serving is equivalent to 10 cups of regularly brewed Green Tea. Intriguing. We’ll definitely have an article about Matcha soon so in the meantime, if you enjoy Green Tea I recommend doing some research. Their site is pretty informative and where I learned how serious they take it. Pretty nice. Just like this deal. Vlad and I were just talking about buying a similar sized bag for 2-3 times as much.matcha powder
